Vijay mallya's dreams have a new hope through yesterdays 7th position on qualifiers for German race. He would be looking forward to the race on sunday for his 3 yrs patience for a point in table.
The billionaire owner saw one of his cars reach qualifying's top-10 shootout for the first time since he bought the team. The German driver Adrian sutil was able to top over the two ferrari drivers who are keen to make their come back."Needless to say I am absolutely delighted with the team's performance. We came to Germany hoping to get to Q2 and we got to Q3 thanks to a superb team performance and a stunning session from Adrian," said Mallya."To do so on his home soil will no doubt make it extra special for him. We are now in a good position for the race and I hope we can finally get those much longed-for points."Sutil said : "It's my home race and my best qualifying position so far in F1, so it was a great qualifying for us.It was very tricky with the weather but our decisions were very good and on time, particularly in Q2 with the rain. We took a risk on the dry tyres and we did it a lap earlier than all the others and got the third fastest time."The German clocked 1:34:316 in the top-ten shoot out to finish seventh for the first time in his career. His team mate Fisichella didn't show any fight back and is placed on 18th position. Fisichella, however, shone and clocked 1:33.745 which was good enough for the fifth spot, ahead of the likes of Kimi Raikkonen, Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton. .
